Casa Educativa exists to promote education, creativity and spiritual growth in order to motivate children in rural areas of Mexico to stay in school pass the ninth grade and develop their full potential. At the same time we strive to strengthen the families so the old mentality can be changed that an education is not a “waste of money” to any gender. We do this in a creative and fun atmosphere full of love and positive encouragement. Right now the program is quarterly two-week after school program helping and encouraging approximately 70 children and their families. We also help and assist around the community with other needs as they are called to our attention such as shoes, school uniforms and supplies plus good-healthy snacks.

As we surrender our readiness to serve doing God’s will, HE has taken us outside of the U.S to the State of Guanajuato, Mexico. We are serving in two Ranchos – rural areas (municipalities) of the city of Cortazar. There we volunteer at:

  • Casa Hogar de Ninas: a local all-girls orphanage – we help them with their school work, sing songs, and give lots of hugs.

  • We started teaching English in Rancho Huizache (this Rancho is about 12 hours by car from the US/Mexican border). God moved us to do something where so many children are so thirsty for learning. For three years now (2017), we have been going twice a year and gather about 75 children ages 5-12 and teach basic English, do crafts, and tell stories about Jesus.

  • In Rancho El Parra another rural area of Cortazar, we have partnered with a local pastor who is planting new church there. We go once a year and do VBS with local children (approximately 50 in our last visit). We feed them, teach them, and share Jesus with them.

God’s work is never done. Never finished. We are to work “with diligence to the very end” (Heb. 6:11) never dismaying knowing that HE will “strengthen us with power through his Spirit in our inner being” (Eph 3:16) and be able to “do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. (Eph 2:10).
